Is Facebook Down right now? What Happened to the Social Media Platform Today June 12?
12 de Junio, 2026 08:32
On June 12, Facebook users reported a widespread outage on the platform. The issues began appearing on various digital service monitoring websites, where reports quickly accumulated regarding login problems, content loading failures, and disruptions to the social network’s functionality.
According to complaints shared by users on other platforms such as X, formerly Twitter, some people were unable to access their accounts, while others experienced difficulties viewing posts, refreshing their feeds, or performing searches within the app.
The disruption also raised questions about the “query error” message, a notification that appeared for some users while attempting to browse Facebook during the outage reported on Thursday.
What does the Facebook “query error” mean?
The “query error” message typically appears when Facebook’s servers are unable to properly process a request made by a user. This can occur for various reasons, ranging from internal technical issues to temporary failures within the infrastructure that supports the platform.
In simple terms, the application sends a request to Facebook’s systems to load information, display content, or perform a specific action. When that request cannot be completed, the system returns an error message.
During large-scale service outages, it is common for these types of notifications to appear, as millions of users attempt to access the platform simultaneously while technical teams work to restore normal operations.
So far, Facebook’s parent company, Meta, has not released a statement detailing the specific causes of the disruption.
What should you do if Facebook is not working?
When Facebook experiences widespread service issues, there is little that users can do to immediately resolve the problem. However, there are several steps that can help determine whether the issue is global or limited to a specific device or connection.
Recommended actions include checking websites that monitor digital platform outages, verifying whether other users are reporting similar problems, and restarting the application or device.
Users are also advised to avoid changing passwords or modifying security settings while the outage continues, as the problem is typically related to Facebook’s servers rather than individual accounts.
Facebook outages are usually resolved within minutes or a few hours, depending on the scale of the incident.
In the meantime, users continue turning to other platforms to report service disruptions and follow updates regarding the restoration of the world’s most widely used social network.
