FC Dallas vs Columbus Crew: Lineups, Storylines & What to Watch
FC Dallas hosts their penultimate home game of the regular season tonight as they welcome the Columbus Crew to town.
Both teams are coming off big wins from over the weekend, with FC Dallas downing San Jose, while the Crew picked up a win at home over Toronto.
Let’s dive into some notes, predictions, and more.
TL;DR: Match Preview
Quick hits before kickoff.
- Score prediction: FC Dallas 1 - 1 Columbus Crew
- Key player to watch: Petar Musa - He's inching closer to the Golden Boot (held by Lionel Messi at the moment), another big game at home could help get him there.
- Why this game matters: This is the second-to-last home game of the year and Dallas is within a point of the top of the Western Conference. Can't slip up now.
FC Dallas Notes:
All-time vs Columbus: FC Dallas owns a 17-20-13 record in all-time regular season meetings with the Crew.
Home record vs Columbus: Dallas owns a 12-6-6 record at home against the Crew, but has not beaten them at Toyota Stadium since the 2011 season.
Homegrown clock: FC Dallas has had four Homegrown players earn minutes this season (Michael Collodi, Nolan Norris, Caleb Swann and Josh Torquato). The group has amassed a total of 3033 minutes.
Notable season stats:
- FCD is 24th in crosses in MLS with 297.
- The Burn are 17th in total distance covered in MLS with 3556.69 km (2209.6 miles).
- FCD is 4th in MLS in aerial challenges won with 414.
- FC Dallas is 17th in MLS in xG with 50.67.
- FCD is 3rd in MLS in shot efficiency with 7.33.
- Musa is 5th in MLS in xG with 18.23. He also ranks 4th in MLS in shots on target with 46.
- Logan Farrington’s 10th career goal on Feb. 21 made him the fastest
— and only — player from the 2024 MLS SuperDraft class to score 10
goals.
Potential FC Dallas Lineup:
Given the three games in seven days stretch for Dallas, I would expect Eric Quill to add a little bit of rotation to his lineup tonight.
